The bathroom is placed squarely in the corner of the new dormer, where it benefits from windows and bright interior colors. It includes a custom vanity and Pental cappuccino counters

The new bath includes just one double-hung window with obscured glass for privacy, and is placed so that there is ample room for a mirror

The vanity is in a dark-stained wood, and a matching linen cabinet is tucked across from it behind the door

The shower features an acrylic pan with a covered grate, and a custom glass door

With a rain head and a hand-held shower head controlled by a diverter, it is possible to have a spa-like feel while showering and the convenience to easily clean the shower with the hand-held fixture. The accent tile is marble installed vertically for a nice counterpoint to the horizontal lines of the subway tile

The revisioned bath moved the door about a foot to the left, leaving enough space for the toilets and ample room for a standard-depth vanity and counter

Inside the shower, a generously sized niche provides lots of space for shampoo and soaps. The controls for the shower are at the left, which allows a warmup of the water without getting wet first. The shower floor is pebbles with natural stone on all walls

Exiting the shower, you can see the new mahogany pocket door, also with obscured glass. The slat floor tiles pick up the colors in the wood with hints of wood grain

The bath is now a beautiful, uncluttered space to enter, with the soft glow of lighting and warm wood tones

A bathroom off the main room includes an easy-to-clean acrylic tub and contemporary vanity, with bright Marmoleum flooring

The bath vanity stays in the same spot but the toilet moves, accommodating custom cherry cabinets with flush doors. One of the owners designed the tile pattern that makes up the backsplash and extends through the niche in the shower. Jura grey limestone is used for the counter and for the floor tile

The new shower is about two feet wider, which allows for a bench seat. The frameless glass door allows in light from the skylight and light fixtures, while the new lighting plan is more attractive and effective

The cherry vanity by Kitchencraft is laid out with more functional drawers and doors, and the new electrical plan provides much better lighting for the room in this remodel Seattle rambler

The finished bath benefits from a new window, with sloping sill at the tub. The previous installation was problematic. A deco line brightens the tile selection there, complimenting a new acrylic tub. The porcelain tile floor - Cronin Natif Ginepro - simulates the look of wood, bringing in rich earth tones, tones mirroring the cherry cabinets

Back on the main floor, the new powder bath shines. The cabinet floats off the floor, with tile running underneathon the wall. A Kohler sink is the counter as well, with a crackled finish

A walk-in closet is on the left, across from the vanity. A pocket door allows it to be closed if desired. The left wall is also the location for the thermostat for the electric floor heat

The vanity is from Restoration Hardware, with a Carerra marble countertop and backsplash. Recessed medicine cabinets provide storage, along with the shelving below, which is an ideal location for towels. The window at the end is an awning with reed glass, providing a little extra ventilation. Note the shape of the shower entry... it follows the lines of the masonry fireplace that it conceals

The shower is long enough that it allowed a design without a glass door. The partition to the right helps contain spray, while the step-off area is an ideal location for the towel warmer and a robe hook

Where the old bathroom stood is a spacious master closet, a toilet room, and a new shower with a ceiling-mounted and a hand-held shower head. Oversized hexagonal tile defines the room

The coup de foudre is the toilet room, which has a Toto toilet with washlet on one side, and a urinal on the other. Plumbing codes required extra capacity from the street to install a urinal in a residential setting

The custom vanity is built from quarter-sawn oak, with stain to match an antique table elsewhere in the home. The baskets below provide extra storage, while the doors and drawers conceal other toiletries

The master bathroom has the same custom cherry cabinets as the kitchen. The cabinetmaker also fabricated the mirror frame, so all the wood and stain is consistent. Warm colors continue with the floor tile

The new vanity is both beautiful and functional, with storage shelves in the middle. Alder wood matches the existing trim in the master suite, with a stain chosen to match

The new sink and faucet are contemporary, with clean lines. The countertop is Vetrazzo, a terrazzo composite with aggregate in cool blue colors. Bubble tile at the backplash bubbles up over the light switch

After seeing how great it looked at the vanity, the clients decided to repeat the pool at the tub/shower area. The results are striking

This bathroom facelift (no walls were moved) is both value-priced and makes a huge difference in how the bathroom looks and feels. It's now a cool and colorful oasis

The tile continues at the shower, with slab sea grass used at the threshold. The relatively small space still feels quite open thanks to the full glass shower surround

On the kids' side, a small closet and some hall space were captured to create an amazing large bathroom. The sink is salvaged, and the original radiator reinstalled. Two new mahogany windows match the same details as in the master bath

Choosing a tub with a curved corner on one side allows this space to also stay as open as possible. The toilet is tucked into the corner with the second window in this small Seattle bath remodel

With a commanding spot in the bathroom and glass half walls to let the light in, the shower is both spacious and beautiful. Niches on the wall provide space for shampoo and the one at the very bottom holds the glass squeegee, and is a convenient leg up while shaving, Seattle shower niche

Across from the shower, an innovative design provides high counters on each side of the vessel sink. Custom cabinets made from quarter sawn oak provide warm colors in this otherwise modern design Seattle bath remodel

The kids bath is also remodeled. Again, there are custom cabinets for the vanity and a medicine cabinet, but this time in a style traditional for this west Seattle bathroom remodel. The terrazzo countertop has blue accents, picking up the color of the walls

The blue accents continue in the kids bathroom surround. The niche is a deep blue hex tile. The balance is simple subway tile. The hexagon tile bathroom on the floor also has integrated blue tile flowers

The shower has integrated, tiled seating at one end. The glass shower surround helps make this bathroom feel bigger than it is. This was important because the previous shower was walled in on three sides

This new linen cabinet is innovative on several fronts. First, the entire unit is recessed back into the framing, so it's actually 3 inch deeper than it looks. It's also installed off the floor. This floating installation helps keep the floor there a seamless line
