The finished kitchen for this basement remodel looks great and is done on a budget. It's amazing to see the finished area considering how much reframing had to be done.
Substantial foundation work was required, including re-pouring parts of the existing foundation where it was inadequate. It turns out that the existing house is now much more stable, thanks to the basement remodel.
Lots of storage in this area, thanks to tall pantry cabinets.
Craftsman style doors carry some of the main floor finishes into the basement area, including this basement bathroom.
The original boiler (seen here) had to be removed and piping reconfigured. The new arrangement tucks all of the heating equipment into a space under the stairs.
Before: a funky configuration and a deck/carport that had seen better days. The basement was largely unfinished.
After: a new two-car garage with storage, and beyond, a complete basement remodel that can be used for relatives or a rental.
