This Shoreline home has million-dollar views. The problem was, the owners had a hard time actually seeing them. The solution, custom spiral stairs up to a new deck that not only provides views, but also compliments the home's entry. Completed 2009.

The new deck is expansive, and takes advantage of an area that was simply a flat roof. The entire area was re-framed to carry the additional weight and the Weatherdek surface is both attractive and functional. Now there's no trouble seeing the Olympics

The new stairs have masonry steps for aesthetics and function. A middle resting step gives a chance to catch your breath on the way up. The landing at the bottom is a small addition on the main floor deck

A touch added after the project was under way: new stacked cultured stone installed over what was a plain painted concrete wall. The stone adds color and interest to the entry
